CALD TERMS AND CONDITIONS

A. CALD Courses
A1. Are provided free of charge for staff working for primary (PHO and GP practices) and secondary care services funded by WDHB, ADHB, CMDHB and staff working for NDSA
 
B. Course Enrolment and Approval,It is your responsibility to:
B1. Notify your manager that he/she will be receiving an email request from CALD Admin to approve your course enrolment and he/she needs to approve your enrolment within ten (10) days from receipt of email, otherwise your enrolment will be deleted
B2. Ensure that manager's name and email address on the enrolment form is correct
B3 . For staff working for ADHB, WDHB, CMDHB, NDSA and PHOs (not GP practices):
B3.1 provides a work-related email of your approving manager eg. nn@waitematadhb.govt.nz or nn@adhb.govt.nz or nn@cmdhb.govt.nz or nn@middlemore.co.nz or nn@ndsa.nz or nn@procare.co.nz
B3.2 notify cald@waitematadhb.govt.nz with correct manager's information within (ten) 10 days from enrolment date
B4. For staff working for GP Practices: (your Practice Manager is the approving manager)
B4.1 Inform your Practice Manager to approve your enrolment within 10 days upon receipt of email
B5. You can print a copy of the Course Enrolment Approval Form for your manager to approve manually and fax to CALD Admin.
 
C. User Registration
C1. For staff working for ADHB, WDHB, CMDHB, NDSA and PHOs (not GP practices):
C1.1 You must provide a work-related email on the user registration form
C2. For staff working for GP Practices:
C2.1 You are allowed to register with non-work related email on the user registration form (however please note that course enrolments are still subject to approval from your practice manager)
 

D. Course Enrolment Confirmation Process

D1. CALD Admin can only confirm your enrolment after the manager has submitted his/her approval
D2. CALD Admin can only confirm your enrolment on Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm excluding public holidays and weekends
D3. You will receive email notification confirming your course enrolment been approved or declined unless your preferred notification is by fax
 

E. Abuse of CALD Registration System, Course Enrolment, CALD Forum rules

CAL D Admin has the discretion and authority to
E1. Decline or delete your enrolment if your approval has not been received within ten (10) days of enrolment and if enrolment information provided is in compliance with B3.1
E2. Decline or delete your user registration if you have not complied with C1
E3. Delete your registration, or any approved course enrolments or membership to the online CALD forum if you are found to have abuse the system or copyrights
 

F. Re-Register or Re-Enrolment

F1. You can re-enrol or re-register if your registration or enrolment has been deleted or declined by CALD Admin because of delayed approval or because of incorrect email address
F2. You will be required to comply with terms and conditions A, B, C when re-registering or re-enrolling.
 

G. Late Course Cancellation Fee

G1. This applies only to classroom course enrolments
G2. CALD admin has rights to charge a late cancellation fee of $100 per enrolment for all classroom-course cancellations or re-bookings received one week or less from the course date. The fee will also be applied to all no-shows on the day of the classroom delivered course.This fee is only waived if a staff member is sick and they or their manager ring us on the day of the course to inform us of this.
 

H. Online Courses

H1. Online study expires after you receive your Certificate of Completion or expire 60 days from date of approval if course is partially completed or not undertaken.
H2. No fee will incur for partially completed or unattended online study at this stage
H3. You can enrol for the same online course up to 10 times only

A. How to Start Your Online Study
1. Go to http://www.caldresources.org.nz
2. Select Log In on the side bar
3. Enter your Email Address < >
4. Enter Your Password < >
5. Click on the Link under Online Study
Module Name: < Module 1: Culture & Cultural Competency>
   
B. CALD Online Forum
  You can also go into the CALD Online Forum to post questions to trainers when doing your online study or after completing your online study
  Only CALD Members who have been approved for CALD 1 course can access this online forum and your user account are auto setup to have the same CALD Course Login name and password
  B1. How To Access CALD Online Forum
B1.1 Go to http://www.caldresources.org.nz
B1.2 Select CALD Online Forum on the side bar
B1.3 Enter your CALD Resources Email Address < > same as above
B1.4 Enter Your Password < > same as above
 
C. Forgotten CALD Resources or Online Forum Password (they are the same)
1. Go to http://www.caldresources.org.nz
2. Go to LOG IN (side bar)
3. Click on "Please click here if you have forgotten password"
4. A FIND PASSWORD BY EMAIL ADDRESSS page will be displayed
5. Type your email address
6. Your password will be send to your email address
7. If you can't remember your email address, then you will have to contact CALD Admin
   
D. About the Online Study
1. You can do your online study anytime any day (24-7)
2. We can guarantee 99% courseware up time
3. You can do your online study at home and at work (however you need to make you have to make sure your system can run the online course - see under system requirements under D because we can not guarantee every computer system can run the online course)
4. Your online course will expire if you do not complete or have not started it 60 days from today and you will need you to re-enrol for the course again
5. You can re-enrol for the same online course up to 10 times and must be approved by your manager
6. A workbook is available for you to print to guide your online study. It is located under ABOUT THS COURSE after GETTING STARTED. You must have an PDF reader on your computer system to be able to view and print this PDF workbook or any PDF documents)
7. A comprehensive PDF workbook is available at the end of the online study under RESOURCES
8. You will receive a Certificate of Completion after completing the course and the Post Course Evaluation form,it gives you 3 educational hours for professional training development after completing the course to claim CME/CNE/MOP credits/points
9. The online study is self-paced , you can exit the course when it suits and re-enter the course to continue where you last stop
10. You can re-enter the course by going through the steps listed under (A)
11. You are recommended to do the online study with a HEADPHONE in an open plan area because there are audio and video clips
12. After the CALD 1 Culture and Cultural Competence Course you can do Online Exercises such as My Values and Ethnocentrism without enrolling for the course
   
E. System Requirements
  CALD Admin cannot guarantee that the online course can run on all types of computer systems
Your system must have the following minimum system requirements:
E1. Hardware: 1.8 Ghz CPU, 512 MB Ram, AC97 Compatible Sound Card with Headphone to listen to audio and video scenarios
E2. Flash Player verison10.0.2.54 or above to play videos and audios
E3. Adobe Reader 6.0 to display and print PDF documents
E4. Operating System: Windows XP or Mac OSX or above, otherwise the online course will not run
E5. Internet Browser: IE 6.0 or Firefox 2.0 or Goggle Chrome 1.0 or above, otherwise you will have graphic display issues
E6. Java Script Enabled on your internet browser
E7. Shockwave Player Version 11 or above installed
  Note: If you have any issues with minimum system requirements at work you need to contact your IS department not CALD Admin
   
F. Speed of Online Course
  The CALD online platform server allows up to 2000 concurrent users to study at the same time and if you are experiencing speed issues compared to other times when you go online to study:
F1. It could be because there are more than 2000 users doing the online course at the same time
F2. It could be because of your organisation's network speed issues or your own home network speed issues
  Note: If you have issues with slowness (network problem) or technical problem with your own work computer, you need to contact your IS department regarding the issues and let them know the minimum requirements, not CALD admin

If your work or your home computer cannot run the online course efficiently, we recommend you to attend the face to face /classroom course.
   
G. CALD Online Course Certificate of Completion
  This is always available on your user account and you can print it at home or at work, in colour or black and white
   
H. Unable To Print The Values Exercise
  If you are having issues with printing the graphs of the Values exercise, please check Printing Settings of your Internet Browser.

H1.

Go to your Internet Browser, Click on "Tool" and select "Internet Options".
H2. Go to the tab named "Advanced" and scroll down to find "Print background colours and images" option under "Printing".
H3. Tick the box next to "Print background colours and images" option
H4. Click "OK" to save your setting.
You should now be able to print your exercise results with bar graphs
